Ice bank 1: Near to Ilulissat we crossed the mouth of the large Icefjord just south of the village. It is responsible for the number of large icebergs that can usually be found in the region. From a distance of about 50km these icebergs looked like a solid wall of low ice but as we neared it, the size of these icebergs became evident.
